The TETC Team is comprised of six teacher educators from across the United States with deep expertise and commitment to curriculum-based technology integration in teacher preparation programs. The TETC Professional Development Program is the result of a more than two-year collaboration to develop a series of four online courses to support teacher educators. 

Denise Schmidt-Crawford, Ph.D

Denise is a co-author of the Teacher Educator Technology Competencies (TETCs). Denise’s research focuses on examining the effects of using technology as a teaching and learning tool to facilitate renewal in both teacher education and PK-12 schools. She teaches courses focused on educational technology, literacy, and research practices. Denise is the President of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) and served on the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education’s (AACTE) Committee on Innovation and Technology. She is an editor for the Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education (JDLTE). In 2016, Denise received the Award for Excellence in Teacher Education presented by the Teacher Education Network (TEN) of the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE). The Award for Excellence in Teacher Education honors one outstanding teacher educator each year who advances the field, demonstrates vision and innovation, and improves learning and teaching. Denise also received the Making IT Happen Award in 2017 from the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) and the Iowa Technology and Education Connection (ITEC).

Teresa Foulger, Ed.D.

Teresa is a co-author of the Teacher Educator Technology Competencies (TETCs). Being involved in the development of the TETC courses supports her interest in advancing technology integration within teacher preparation through an "infusion" approach. Teresa served as President of the ISTE Teacher Education Network from 2011-2015 and received the “Making IT Happen” award from ISTE in 2019. She also served as the Co-Chair of the TPACK Special Interest Group of the Society for Technology and Teacher Education (SITE).


Kevin Graziano, Ed.D.

Kevin teaches educational technology and TESL courses to preservice and inservice teachers and conducts research on teachers’ technology integration in the classroom. He is a co-author of the Teacher Educator Technology Competencies (TETCs), the former chair of the Consultative Council for the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), the former chair of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education’s (AACTE) Committee on Innovation and Technology, and the former co-chair of SITE’s mobile learning SIG. Mark Hofer, Ph.D.

Mark is a former high school social studies teacher, school and district technology coordinator and teacher educator for the last 19 years. Most recently he has directed two innovation centers to support K-12 teachers and university faculty in promoting deeper learning opportunities for students, often through the use of educational technologies. He researches planning for technology integration and innovation in K-12 and higher education contexts. He is the current Vice-Chair of the Consultative Council and former Co-Chair of the TPACK Special Interest Group of the Society for Technology and Teacher Education (SITE)

John Lee, Ph.D

John is an author of the College, Career and Civic Life Framework for Standards in Social Studies (http://socialstudies.org/c3) and is a founder and co-director of the C3 Teachers project (http://c3teachers.org). He develops innovative digital historical resources through the Digital History and Pedagogy Project (http://dhpp.org). He has authored or co-authored several books at the intersection of social studies education, curriculum design and reform, and educational technology integration. 
David Slykhuis, Ph.D

David is a sixteen year veteran in higher education with much of his career focused on educational technology. He is the immediate Past President of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), a member of the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) standing committee on Innovation and Technology, and a member of the Steering Committee of the EdTech Genome Project sponsored by the Jefferson Education Exchange. He is one of the four researchers who developed the Teacher Educator Technology Competencies.
